Cut Copy Paste was the inaugural zine fair by Singapore Art Book Fair, co-organised with Shrub and Temasek Polytechnic. The event welcomed over 3,000 visitors and celebrated the raw, rebellious spirit of zine culture.

As the sole designer, I created the fair’s entire visual identity—developing a playful system rooted in analogue techniques like crayon scrawls, paper cut-outs, and scanner noise. This design language was applied across event signage, fair posters, wayfinding promotional media, web and social content. Staying true to the DIY ethos, I also helped fold over 800 copies of the catalogue by hand. The identity not only captured the tactile spirit of self-publishing but also supported the fair’s scale and energy—proving how expressive design can rally a creative community.

One of the main constraints for this project was budget—which, in true zine spirit, became a creative advantage. Leaning into a DIY approach, I combined traditional mark-making (crayons, ink, risograph) with SGABF’s custom sans-serif typeface to build a flexible visual language. Each touchpoint was designed to feel playful, rebellious, and unmistakably handmade.

Highlights include a risograph-printed poster that doubled as a catalogue and keepsake, and the classic “Hello My Name Is” tags for exhibitors and volunteers to fill in themselves. The outcome was warm, scrappy, and collaborative—fitting for a zine fair run on heart, ink, and folded A3s.
