Yeast Side is a Singapore-based craft beer and sourdough pizza bar. When they first approached me, they had a single outlet at King Albert Park and only a basic logo. I was brought on to develop a fuller brand identity that could reflect their quirky, energetic vibe and support future expansion.
I introduced a playful visual system—centered around bright yellow, bubbly typefaces, and two original mascots: Dough Man and Yeast Boy. Together, these characters brought the spirit of fermentation and friendship to life, appearing across posters, menus, social media, and signage. The result was a distinctive brand world that customers could instantly connect with.
Since then, Yeast Side has grown to three locations (Farrer Park, Somerset, and King Albert Park), with the identity consistently rolled out across their brand touchpoints—web, merchandise, events, beer labels, and store graphics. The project shows how expressive, character-driven design can support both personality and scalability.
Beyond craft beer and pizza, Yeast Side aims to
enrich the local food and beverage scene through
arts and culture. In line with this, they host
pop-up events featuring local creatives. As
their first collaborating artist, I designed and
produced a series of merch including tote bags
and T-shirts that celebrates the brand’s
playful, craft-driven spirit.
